THE CURIOUS ONE
So Jeremiah has gone from being content in watching big brothers, to wanting to do EVERYTHING that big brothers are doing : puzzles, blocks, legos, cars, trains, you name it. I came out of the shower this morning and all three were playing together, jeremiah charging forward and his big brothers running away from the *monster*, then turing around to come back for more... everyone was in a fit of giggles and it was pretty cool to see all three of them interacting so well together.

POTTY TRAINING
Jacob has embraced the potty much quicker than I expected. He is doing so well... that "pee pee" treats lasted a mere week.

CLEANING UP
So it was pretty funny the other day when I asked the boys to clean up the playroom; as usual, Jake starts singing his clean-up song. A few minutes later I hear Joshua say, "Jake just because you are singing clean-up, doesn't mean that you are actually cleaning up!"

LADIES MAN
Josh seems to be a social bee at school, when I ask him who his friends are at school, he looks at me very seriously, "Everyone is my friend mommy." How sweet is that? Joshua caught me off guard when I took him to his field trip back in October, and this little girl and him held hands the whole time. HA! At least his picks the cute ones. =-)

Singing Along the Way....

Every Tuesday and Thursday, we get up, get breakfast pack the boys into the car and rush to school. Josh is dropped off by 8:45 while Jake starts school at 9.... When we pull into the parking lot Jake says to me in the little tiny voice, "My school?" as I respond, "Yes honey this is your school", He gets out of the van, grabs his elmo backpack, places it around his neck and sings this little song while bobbin his head the entire way through the parking lot.... it is kinda cute and it helps me appreciate the small things in life. Like going to school :)

Sock in A Haystack?

Jeremiah has this amazing ability to find socks.... I will be giving big brothers a bath and in crawls jeremy with socks in mouth, he will starting digging through a hamper and out he comes with several socks. Mark and I joke that if he was in a room filled to the ceiling with laundry and only one sock, jeremy would find it. What a strange obsession to have.

Map/Road Obesssion

So at 4 year old, Josh is extremely interested in where we are going, how we are getting there and what roads are we taking. He is constantly asking road names and instantly knows if we are taking a different route than normal. This morning I woke up to Josh walking around the house with a map that Mark had printed the evening before, on a destination where only he knew where he was going. He walks into my room with the map in hands, "oh look mom, there is 88".... "Now I need to find 54." and on his way he went.

WINNIE THE POOH
This is Josh's last week of school before the winter break and he had the opportunity to go and see a Winne the Pooh Musical. It was a lot of. Only about an hour long and kept the interest of the kiddos. Jake even sat though the whole thing... although he was in my lap clinging on for dear life because the costumes scared him. Go figure.

I have also decided that I am going to get awesome arm muscles with having 3 children. Jake has such awesome listening skills (can you hear the sarcasm.... if not, listen a bit harder) that I have to not only carry Jeremy's infant carrier, but I also have to carry Jake. He darts all over the place in parking lots and sidewalks, etc. etc. I have tried everything, but he is just our special one that is going to take a little bit more effort to get him to adhere to life's rules. So bring on the awesome arm muscles!

JAKE'S FIRST HAIRCUT
was an experience I tell you what! He refused to sit on the chair by himself, so he had to sit in my lap, I had on one of those capes and halfway through Jake decided he didn't like his anymore and threw it on the floor. Abby, our stylist, was so stressed cause Jake wouldn't sit still.... we started out feeding him M&M's but Jake was plowing through them so fast that his hands got all sticky and the hair started collecting... gross... we were lucky enough that a train came past as Abby was starting to use the scissors, it was a long train too. So we got a few minutes wiggle free. After that, it was back to the candy..... Little to say Jake came home with a great haircut and a small appetite for dinner. I truly have ever seen someone cut hair so fast in my life. Next time I think I am going to bring the portable DVD Player and pop in a movie.

BIG BROTHERS
Big brothers Josh and Jake are completely obsessed with Jeremy, they love giving kisses and hugs and are constantly standing over him to cover him up or give him the pacifier. I never thought that Jake would be so lovey with Jeremy, I thought he would be in a fit of jealous rage for the better part of the first year, man can kids surprise you! ( Although secretly I think he is excited that he will now have someone to boss around as Josh does to him) The boys are all handsome and we are blessed to have the three to complete our family. I am sure I will be leading a life of muddy clothes and bloody noses.

JEREMY IS HERE!

So we had Jeremy on November 17 @ 2:15 am..... Mark and I joked on the way to the hospital that with 3 children there had to be at least one, "rush to the hospital experience" and Jeremy was it! My water broke about 11:15 pm and we were to the hospital by 12:30 am..... they were prepping me for surgery by 1 am.... Of course my OB was out of town and the on-call doctor had to deliver us, what a night. Never in a million years would I have expected to have one of the babies "unscheduled" All worked out for the best though and we are so excited to have him here.

So Josh is in Karate, some days he wants to be goofy and other days he just doesn't feel like conforming to the instructor's rules, but for the most part he really enjoys it.... I took the camera to class yesterday because I needed to video tape his forms so that we can practice them at home with him, he is having a hard time remembering in between classes. They are super cute in their uniforms..... I have also uploaded a video showing them practicing their kicks...

ok so i saw the cutest thing today..... jake was in the backyard with brooke and josh and they both were trying to throw the base ball up in the air to hit it right? the next time i look out, jake has a bat and a bat in his hand throwing it a few feet from him and then swinging the bat..... super cute!

we turned his crib into the toddler bed last night and put a rail on instead... i don' t think he realizes that he can climb over the rail yet, *knock on wood*, he will prob be transitioned into a twin bed in january sometime, after the craziness of the baby and christmas is over.

Halloween!

what a busy day.... we started our morning off waiting in line at Dreyer Medical so that we all could get a seasonal flu shot......... Jake and I didn't make the cut, but Josh and Mark are covered! Then we headed over to Walgreen's Take Care clinic to have Josh's ear infection looked at, once at home we were all good and happy.

mushy stuff that he wouldn't stick his hands IN the pumpkin to get out.

The boys wanted nothing to do with carving their pumpkins....... neither one of them would stick their hands inside, they both cried..... soooo we got them each a spoon and let them go for it, jake kept trying to eat the seeds and yucky gushy stuff (he wouldn't stick his hands in, but he will eat it?!?!!? I do not understand that child) and we cleaned out all the insides, Josh helped me draw the face and we cut it out. The second pumpkin we didn't even open, I just let Josh put on a tattoo face and that was that.

Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood, yummy, candy....

As for trick-or-treating, Josh was really excited to go..... until we actually went. The halfway through he decided he was too tired and bored, Jake was way into it though. He wanted to go to all the houses, except for the "scary" ones. He fell into step and knew exactly what to do. So to say the least, we only did half our street, but had fun passing out candy at the house.

Mark an I had the opportunity to go to a Halloween Party this year, we were pretty excited, we haven't been to a costume party since college. So we got all into it and dressed up, going as hugh Hefner and the Pregnant Angel. We had a lot of fun hanging out with friends and being the social butterflies that Mark and I are. The host hired a singer that sang all night, he had a playlist that we could choose songs off of, it was pretty cool. What was really funny, is that everyone kept asking me if I was actually pregnant. Everyone thought it was just part of the outfit. I have to mention that Mark's Playboy bunny robe came out awesome! I am so proud of it, patting myself on the back right now.
All in all it was a great Halloween and we can't wait until next year!

Goebberts Pumpkin Patch

So this year the kids had a blast at the pumpkin patch. we just skated in before halloween though, with everything going on and all the crummy weather, it has been a challenge just to get there. they had some new things from last year, like they brought in all of these exotic animals, giraffes, zebras, porcupines, bengal tigers, monkeys, it was really cool and the kids fed them carrots, Jake got a HUGE kick out of it..... wasn't timid at all like Josh was when he was that age.

We took a ton of pics, that are now MIA. I am so disappointed and sad and angry that whatever happened to my camera, happened. I took like 60 pics too.... bummer!

we also enjoyed watching their pumpkin eating dino and has fun climbing on all the wooden tractors, buses, fire trucks, pirate ships, cars, etc. that they have placed throughout the patch. We also picked out a Josh sized pumpkin to carve and ate apple cider doughnuts. The kids enjoyed the hay maze and josh was brave enough to go through the haunted house this year.

All in all it turned out to be a beautiful day and a nice afternoon. Wish we had the pics to prove it!

Catching Up

So it looks as though I have some catching up to do.....

Josh is in preschool and loving it. He has also recently taken up Karate and seems to be enjoying that as well. Jake is becoming more and more independent and enjoys doing anything that his big brother is doing. They are great pals.

Baby Lee #3 is due in just a few short weeks. We are expecting to have him the week before Thanksgiving, so we are preparing for his arrival and getting lots of one on one time in with Jake and Joshua.

Jake has finally decided that walking is important, he is still learning, but will take off from any object and make his way across the room. I think the crawling on the concrete did him in. the past few days he has been "bear" crawling with his butt way up in the air, so his knees aren't touching the ground. super cute!

We are ecstatic!

Phillips Park Zoo (April), Cosley Zoo (May)

APRIL 2009 - Phillips Park Zoo, Aurora, IL
Mark and I love free! We are never sure if the kids are going to enjoy themselves OR if they are going to cooperate, they are in the in between phase, where Jake no longer sleeps anywhere and Josh gets defiant when he is over tired. We have a zoo in Aurora called Phillips Park that is FREE! very small, but they have a flower garden and peacocks, otters, foxes, eagles, coyotes, llamas, goats, ducks, turkeys, a reptile house, etc. you can walk the entire zoo in 15 minutes, but again it is FREE and they kids really enjoy it. If nothing else is going on there is also a HUGE 3 playground park right behind the zoo that we try and bring a picnic lunch and hit up both attractions on the same day. We went there a few weeks ago between all the spurts of rain, ere are a couple of pics from Phillips..... see more on our Photo Site, under Day Trips
I was trying to get some nice photos of the kids in front of the tulips, they were gorgeous, but of course niether one wanted to cooperate. I think this is the best picture out of the 12 that I took.

MAY 2009 - Cosley Zoo, Wheaton, IL
We wanted to do something fun on this long weekend with the kids, but felt Phillips Parked out since we were there just few weeks ago, Mark was researching online and found a second FREE zoo in Wheaton called Cosley Zoo. It was much larger than Phillips, among the different kinds of animals, there was also a caboose with some education puzzles, toys and learning tools for the kids to explore. This zoo had lambs, goats, llamas, burros, pigs, reptiles, coyotes, a variety of birds, owls, HUGE bunnies, etc. It took us about 45 minutes to walk this zoo. Much more wooded/green areas to make the zoo feel more natural. There was a big open/shaded picnic area for lunch. Wisconsin Dells - Chula Vista Resort

I am WAY behind in posting, we have been extremely busy with all of our crazy schedules. BUT I have time on my long weekend to get everyone caught up....

The first weekend in May we took the kids to Wisconsin Dells and we stayed at Chula Vista Resort. We stayed for 2 nights and three days, which, with little ones was plenty long to be away from home. Jake did not sleep well, as expected, and Josh LOVED the water, no surprise there. Jake was terrified of the water, he did not warm up to it until the third trip down the the water slides. It was amazingly quiet that weekend, and there were never more than a dozen or so kids in the kiddy area. Which was really nice, it was easier to keep track of Joshua, expecially since Jake did not want to go into the water. I have included a few pics from our time away on the photo site and a "sneak" peak on here. We took an entire roll of pics with a waterproof disposable camera and NONE of them turned out, I was so disappointed. So we took the boys on their first bike ride of the season and it was very nice. I made Mark move the trailer from my bike to his, so the ride was much easier for me from last year. Mark had the extra 70 pounds to carry around this time!

Teeth, Crawling and Attitude

Jake is making a break through, we now have 5, almost 6 teeth! 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. He is pulling up to a stand, doing a little cruisin', really not interested in walking yet, but throughly enjoys picking on his older brother. If he only understood that playing outside would be so much more fun if he could run! in time, in time. Jake really does not like the grass so he just sits there in one spot hoping that daddy or mommy will come over and entertain him.

Josh just completed his 2nd by himself swimming class and is dying to be a part of it again, I tried registering him and I waited too long because all the Saturday mornings were filled. We are taking him to the Dells in a couple of weeks and I am sure he will be bug eyed ALL weekend. Grandma, I am warning you, I think we may utilize your pool MUCH more frequently this summer.

We set-up a swing set for the kids a few weeks ago and am so excited that we have had such great weather the last couple of days, it is nice to be in the backyard and have something to do, and not be constantly inventing games for the kids. We can only draw with chalk and play "ball" so many times without being bored (remember that toddlers have an attention span of about 3 seconds)

Josh is in his 2nd round of "My First Sports" and we are learning that he enjoys Soccer, Baseball, Hockey, Kickball and Frisbee. He has told me that he DOES NOT like Basketball because the hoop is too high, little does he know, he already the size of most 5 year olds and that basket may get much closer sooner than he thinks!

the kids are both growing like a weed, Jake is doing really well, he is even starting to entertain himself for like 5 minutes a day, I can get a shower in without him screaming, yeah! They are oh so precious. We love em to smitherines!

Believe it or not, Jake being in the 30% percentile and Josh being in the 90%, Jake typically starts it, as you will see from the video(s) I have two children that are ALL BOY!

My little fishy

joshua is in his very first "all by myself" swim class. no more mommy and me, so next session i can get jacob started in lessons too. he is doing pretty good, josh is learning to tread water, "walk" the side of the pool, climb out of the pool, how to kick his legs, and the arm motions needed for a forward stroke. he is doing really well and seems to be enjoying it.

joshua is also doing good in preschool, he knows most of his colors and he was telling me some of his shapes today, he has even managed to gain himself a little girlfriend. she (according to her mom) talks about josh constantly and wants josh to be involved in everything she does, too bad we don't get together with them more often.

joshua is proving to be musically inclined. if he isn't dancing to the beat, he is banging on his drums set and singing. we have friends who own "rock bank" and he plays the drums practically to the beat of whatever song is playing that time around. i can't waiting until he is old enough to get into some sort of music class and see if the interest peaks or fades.

josh is starting a "my first sports" class in a couple of weeks, he will learn about basketball, soccer and baseball. it is right after preschool, wee hee, so on tuesday mornings i have from 9-12 to me and jake, what will i do with all that time? i am hoping that this sports class will help get some of the winter wiggles out of his system.

On the Move

Jacob is now crawling! YAY! he gets around like a champ now and follows Joshua everywhere. He is also very interested in EVERYTHING that joshua does, so josh is now understanding the true meaning of sharing and "get out of my space"

I don't think I ever updated everyone on the lazy eye situation. the eye doctor couldn't make the eye go lazy, so that was good, but it made me look like a goof ball. she said that because she didn't see the "lazy" eye, that there was nothing she should do for it and made it sound like he will adjust it all himself. We are going to have a follow-up visit in June, at that time we will discuss if there is a treatment even needed. If he does need treatment, it may be a very low prescription eyeglass (i hope not!) but all is well for now.

jake turns one next week! holy cow..... he has started clapping and waving at those who are interesting to him. he is pulling up to his knees then gets scared and drops down to sitting. jake is loving solid foods too. he really enjoys all types of fruit, bananas, mandarin oranges, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, apple sauce, you name it he eats it. jake also is a carb-aholic, he inhales it and we have graduated to cheese and yogurt. YAY! belly problems are disappearing, next week we can start adding a bit of milk into his formula.

I have also gotten jacob to drink water out of a sippy (if i take the stopper out for him) he seems to be enjoying that also.

1.1.09 milestones

jacob has had a busy week! we have reached several milestones that i have been anxiously awaiting. we cut our first tooth..... which is awesome in itself, but makes for a crabby jake. jake is also going from his tummy to sitting up, he started this a week ago, from there he has started "inch worming" i can't even call it a true army crawl, he is literally sticking his butt up in the air and pushing forward with his feet, a true inch worm crawl.

we are so relieved that there is finally a motivation to move across the room. jake is still very impatient though and tends to get frustrated easily, so the hard part is to let him work through it on his own, and not help out so much.

jake enjoyed christmas, the chaos intrigued him and he was excited that lots of new things kept appearing in front of him, all in all he made out like a bandit, as kids usually do and now has many new toys to "inch worm" to.

12.6.08 lazy eye

poor jacob has a lazy eye, we are going to the doctor's to get it all checked out on december 15. i will keep you updated on the form of treatment, i am hoping that it is not eye glasses. whew, that would be a toughy.

11.25.08 crawling

when exactly is he going to crawl? not just crawl, but be remotely interested in moving? jake is just very interested in his big brother, or watching the dogs. crawling is absolutely out of the question because he must be on his tummy to crawl, and we all know how he hates that.

we went to the doctor's because jake was waking up in the middle of the night, i thought maybe he had not been feeling well, turns out, his ailment is a stubborn personality. i have never met a baby that liked to be held sooo much. i am sure that they exist, just not in "my" world, well until now.

1.10.09 - {almost} three-year old torture

so i have been telling joshua all week, we get to go swimming on saturday. all by yourself, like a big boy! he has been so excited, we get up this morning, josh is asking if today is when he gets to swim, yes sweetie, we get to go swim! we pack our new "speed racer" backpack with our swim trunks and our new fireman hooded towel and away we go to swim lessons.

what a pain! we get josh all undressed and into his swim trunck to find out that, the class is going over safety and pool rules. what!?!?!?! he was very good at sitting and listening, but then i have the fit when josh realizes that we are NOT swimming today.

what a form of torture to an {almost} three year old, sit him in front a a pool, in his swimsuit nonetheless, to watch other kids swimming, fail to mention to mom and dad about the safety talk, and not even let them dip their toes in!

so instead we went out and played in the snow.......

1.1.09 - santa came to visit?

we woke up christmas morning having to explain to josh that santa comes to visit while he is sleeping, and not to stay and play. josh seemed disappointed that he didn't actually get to see him, but had his eye on all the goodies that santa brought him.

josh was actually excited this year and got way into the opening of the gifts, exclaiming at every new package. "look a new shirt! look a new monster truck! look a new puzzle!" being just as excited as the previous gift, now that the gist opening has ended, josh has lots of new things to divert him from his usual play of "cars".

he is really enjoying the games that he received and all his new puzzles. plus, it gives mom and dad something to with him that is more interesting than lining cars up side by side.

for new years, we invited some friends over for our second annual "noon year's eve" party. the kids had fun hanging out, blowing their noisemakers and pulling the strings on the poppers with confetti hidden inside. it was a nice break in our week.

josh starts school back up next week, good bye sleeping in and staying up late.

11.25.08 - preschool

josh is still loving school. we had to miss this week though because he is still feeling under the weather from his double ear infections. i can tell a difference with his conceptualization now that he is routinely going to the sitters/school. he is becoming more imaginative.

we have the gigantic floor puzzles and he put one together all himself yesterday. i am so amazed at how much they pick up on when they are so little.

1.1.09 - christmas/new year

we had the pleasure of hosting christmas for mark's family this year, all in all, i would call it a success. the food was good, the kids were happy and it was nice to have all the family over. mark's cousins came in from san diego and florida, so we had a full house. we then traveled up to see my parents and had a quiet dinner with her fabulous lasagna dinner, yum yum. after all the hub bub of the holidays, we have been laying low and trying to kick all the germs we picked up from family.

mark had an ear infection, yow! and jake has something nasty.... he will be going to the doc's tomorrow (hopefully) josh seems to be suffering from cabin fever and i am hating this cold weather.

we had friends over for new year's eve, and had a competitive night of taboo and risk..... we watched all the partying on tv and hit the hay. we all have enjoyed our couple of weeks off and are sad to see it ending so soon and getting back to the normal schedule of work and school.

12.6.08 - santa

so we go to visit santa and mrs. claus today and josh had a freak out. he got really shy and refused to sit on santa's lap. i felt kind of bad for the guy, so we get some cute pics of jacob and we go to leave and josh bursts into tears because he wanted his monster truck. (before we left to see santa i told josh that we can tell him what to bring us for christmas, he was really excited) apparently what he thought i meant was that we will go see santa, tell him what we want and he would deliver at that exact moment...... so josh was very said that he not only didn't get a present, but he did not get his really big big big monster truck either.

11.25.08 - new kitchen

i am so proud of mark. we have a new kitchen, he installed an over the range microwave and a dishwasher. plus we have a new fridge. we are finally dent free and ave handles where handles belong. we did it on the cheap, if you haven't heard of craigslist.com, you should utilize it, people sell all sorts of stuff for practically nothing and you can get some great finds. mark and i are finding out that naperville is a city that loved to upgrade. our fridge is only 3 years old and we got it for $125, can't beat that. hello side by side. goodbye food shoved all the way in the back which gets forgotten about on the bottom shelf.

About the Family

Mark is doing awesome at work, he was 1 of 15 selected from his company of about 600 (for our area) to participate in a 3 day project management conference. At the conference, it was suggest that he start studying for his PMP. (some other engineering certificate, where you can put some additional letters behind your name, but I can complain, he will get a promotion, make more money and work less hours, whoo hoo!)

So with his PE he can do lots, it was explained that with the PMP he can go anywhere. So now Mark is back to the studying. He has a little extra time to study and has a better idea of what the test will entail.

Josh is doing really good. Lots of energy and as inquisitive as can be. His new fascination seems to be tunnels...... he works a tunnel into most of his play. He started preschool last week and is loving it. We have to walk past the pool to get to "school" and he keeps asking about swim lessons, so when he turns 3 he can go in with the instructor and then I can take a class with Jake. We are considering putting him into karate, if we can work it into our evening schedules.

Jake is also doing well. He is in the beginning stages of sitting up. He is exploring solids and keeps an eagle on on Josh and the dogs. When he realizes that he can move, I am sure he will not waste anytime. He is doing really well and gaining weight like a mad man. His last doctor's appt. was at 6 months and Jake weighed 15 lbs. 5 oz. and was 26 inches long.

I am also doing well, business is picking up and I am putting my toe into the larger clientele. I have been blessed with great referrals from my current business contacts. I have some great deals in the works and will let you know if something big comes through.

We are loving all the rain.... not really.... I know that we needed it, but the kids are getting stir-crazy. I think we may rn some evergy out at Airtastic after naptime.

Why Is It Changing? Again!

Ok so, I had this reall awesome laptop, that I got from someone on Craiglist who rebuilds. It was really cheap, everything that I needed for the business and came with my design programs, oh yeah and did I mention really cheap?

So it crashed on me a few weeks ago, there was no warning and the laptop no longer turned on.... How frusterating! I am so incrediably glad that I didn't and have never, stored any of my client's files on the laptop, although, I did have my CutestFamilyForever.com site stored on it.

So most of it is gone, and with out my templates, it is going to take forever to recreate what I do have access to...... so I am back to the drawing board. I am also not an expert web person and as you all can see, it takes me FOREVER to get all my photos updated. So for an easier and less stressful life, and trying to keep in contact with ALL my family that I adore and love. I am trying to come up with an easy solution to my lack of updates.

I have come across this very blog site and am looking to possibly use it with a client, so why not try it out for myself? Right. I am the best to experiment on in my own project. Ok, so for those who I am talking over your head..... I will tell you about the fam.
